Gruene Hall is the oldest continually operating dance hall in Texas, and most weekends there is live music worth the drive. New Braunfels is 30 minutes and gives you the Comal River for tubing, a full restaurant scene, and Schlitterbahn. The Guadalupe River recreation corridor is 25-30 minutes for more tubing, kayaking, and fishing.
